Based in the heart of the glorious Hertfordshire city of St Albans, we use the best locally sourced produce to create ingredient-led seasonal dishes. Our restaurant reflects our passion for exceptional food and memorable dining experiences, with a menu offering variety, simplicity and seasonality.

Located on the fashionable George Street, The Abbey is a home away from home. We wanted to create something unique that reflects our ethos, which is to spread our love of seasonal and sustainable food whilst creating a great atmosphere, a warm welcome and laid-back charm.

The team behind the restaurant have years of experience in the hospitality industry, with an outstanding reputation for incredible food and service. Opening for business on 2nd March 2018, The Abbey is set to be one of the town's favourite places to eat.

Cat Ashton, Executive Chef

Cat has a passion for exceptional produce and memorable dining experiences. Cat was previously Head Chef at the prestigious Petersham Nurseries and Paradise by way of Kensal Green. At The Abbey, she is developing contemporary, global flavours at the same time as making a commitment to thoughtfully sourced, high quality, honest food. She is determined to develop the menu around as many beautiful products from the Hertfordshire region as possible and is always on the lookout for locally grown or produced ingredients prized for their flavour and freshness.
